Gladys Nyachieo (PhD) is a sociologist and senior lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Multimedia University of Kenya. Currently, she is also the Head of the Sociology Department. She has over 10-year experience in transport research. Her research interests include walking and cycling, road safety, public transport, boda boda motorcycles, gender issues in transport and governance in transport planning. She is currently a Principal Investigator in a VREF collaborative project between Kenya and Malawi. She recently published two book chapters on gender and transport and a journal article on barriers and perceptions to walking and cycling.
